anngjerd climbing mount knuten, as always when in kongsberg. good times!
going back to bergen for the weekend to move into our new apartment, right next to the bergen aquarium and the park, right at the tip of the nordnes peninsula. then it's back to kongsberg for a few days and possibly a some work at the storås festival before i head to oslo for more work at øya. |

I think this years festgoers were an age average of 22 years at the max. I felt both old and young at the same time. Too bad i caught the Hove flu which has kept me pretty much ill up until yesterday. Still, it was a fun festival. I mostly worked for Dagsavisen, but also did a little something for Pitchfork. so i thought there were a couple of bands everybody should be listening too. or at least have the chance to listen to.
first off norma sass. i love their melodies and the chorus just gets me every time. all these are demos (as far as i know) so the quality of the recordings are a bit lo-fi, but it doesn't take too much away from the songs. the photos are from thrusday when i saw them live here in bergen. more photos on flickr.
then there's ungdomskulen who held their releaseparty last saturday. bisexual is definatly a grower, but idunno is a pretty immediate track. check it out, love the cowbells! (photos from revolver, oslo where fans rushed the stage to dance for the encore)

heavy snow broke my window today. nice... hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow but for now it's about -2 degrees celcius in there. i just hope it doesn't rain. lucky for me i can stay at anngjerd's.
i'm going to oslo later this week for by:larm. they are flying me over to do some photo work for their paper. and i will do a pitchfork report too i think. and hopefully lots more work as i'm not getting payed by by:larm, only getting flight and hotel. not bad you may think, but this is my job, so when i do it i need to get paid, in order to pay my rent and so on. so this is not a holiday to see cool bands and get drunk. i'm lucky if i get to sleep more than 4 hours per night and meet any of my oslo-friends. i'm not even thinking about drikning beer or seeing bands. but i'm looking forward to it. i love my job after all. ust wish it would pay better. but i know that's gonna happen some day, and most likely some day soon.
best go to bed. long day ahead tomorrow. anngjerd has been sleeping for an hour already. i'll leave you with something from way up in the skies.

The view from Anngjerd's balcony in Bergen.
It's very late again. Anngjerd is in London with her fellow masterdegree art academy students. I'm in Bergen and I've spent most of this Saturday in my room, being lazy, trying to work on some photos, but mostly watching streamed NRK-sport on the internet.
In the coming week I'll be going to Trondheim to cover the Urørt-finals (national band competition) for NRK. Up on the 22th and back early on the 24th. The final is on the evening/night of the 23rd so i expect no sleep before I'm on the plane back to Bergen at 07.40am. Two days later me and Anngjerd will be on our way to Germany. Neat neat neat! One week in beautiful Berlin, and five of the nights in a pretty nice hotel on Bülowstraße, not far from Potsdamer Platz and Wittenbergplatz. Also we'll be spending a couple of nights in Silje and Petri's apartment in Friedrichshain.

This bunny was hanging out in gardens around Anngjerd's parents house in Arendal all through the summer. He didn't seem to belong to anyone so we were always betting on wheter we'd seem him on our way to town or not. Most of the times we did. I wonder how winter is treating him...
Summer in Arendal was good by the way.

textotek is a nice club run partly by my roomie gaute. the concept is as follows; send your song wish/greeting to text message to 1969 and they will download the song from itunes or other sources and project your text message on the wall behind them. this means a most eclectic night of dancing.
